The car was delivered by Kellow Faulkners in 1952 to Robert Hawkes. He gave it to his wife as a 25th birthday present. Marjorie drove the car from then until she had an accident in it at the age of 83!

The insurance company paid her out with a sum plus the car. She sold the car to John knowing that he planned to restore it as others wanted to break it down for parts. The restoration has taken a little longer than the planned 6 months!

John replaced the fan (damaged in the accident), the kingpins, had the headlights resilvered, re-upholstered the seats and roof lining and replaced the carpets. He has replaced the radiator core, the clutch, the pressure plate, the universal joints and rear wheel bearings.

Most of the interior timber has been refinished.

It is a manual car. It has 31,243 miles on the clock, possibly the second time round.

There are no outstanding mechanical problems. and the car serviced regularly at Kellow Faulkner until they closed. A major restoration undertaken in 1983.
