Project Description

Holden EK

Originally owned by Mrs McDonald from South Australia, our example is known to be the one of the very few number one Holden’s off the assembly line and is a real Australian treasure. Other than the Holden 48-215 one prototype which is in the Canberra Museum this Holden is quite possibly the only surviving number one Holden to surface in over 20 years from the production models up until the Holden HR.

Complete with original service and maintenance booklets show the original and matching numbers of This Fabulous EK Holden and the services to show original low 28,000 miles…

Complete with original service and maintenance booklets show the original and matching numbers of This Fabulous EK Holden and the services to show original low 28,000 miles

This particular example has been stored in a museum in Victoria for many years and was purchased from a well-known Holden collector.  The car is completely original and its two-tone Grey duco and interior is original.

The chassis number was one of the earliest chassis numbers from the Adelaide plant back at the time when Holden was only making van bodies. The trim and Interior is as close to factory new condition with the smell of a new EK Holden sitting in the showroom. The car was purchased new from United Holden in May of 1961.

Capital classic Autos is very privileged to have the first EK Holden in its collection.
